A good evening to you all from behind a warm mug of tea, late at night here in the UK. If you’ve visited here before, you may have noticed that things are looking a litte bit different here today.

This fantastic evening marks the begining of my revisited blog. There is still much for me to do on the blog design before I could consider it done (adding dates into the template in a friendly fashion to start with). Anyhow, this is all leading up to some posts about XNA programming from dicussions that I had a while ago over at xnachat.com. Anyhow, it’s late here and there’s much sleep to be had.

A short review of using the Live Journal Cross Posters to keep my LJ and this blog synchronised and a summary of the short-term plans for my beautiful website.

Wordpress integration with my LiveJournal has been achieved. Using the incredibly useful Live Journal Cross Poster (LJXP) all entries posted to my Wordpress blog are now automatically also posted to my Live Journal. Apparently, the plugin will also make sure that they are kept up to date – so that if I make any changes they will also be mirrored on my Live Journal.

Other progressive news is that I have now also updated the front page of my website so that it includes the latest posts from my blog and my articles database in an aggregated form. I guess the next quick job is to make that into an RSS feed so that people can keep up to date with my site if required.

My next task is to complete the articles section of my site – and to get some content on here too. I plan to write a few software reviews for less common software so that they might hit a target audience. Along the same lines, I will hopefully start work on some tutorials some time soon too, perhaps some Photoshop tutorials for comic style colouring, or maybe some programming orientated tutorials.

A brief discussion about why I decided to use Wordpress for my future blogging needs instead of syndicating my Live Journal posts across to this site.

After giving it much thought and deliberation, I have decided that it is time for me to migrate my blog over to something that I can properly embed into my webpage. However, as I hate the thought of losing contact with all my Live Journal friends I am currently looking into a Wordpress module so that I can cross-post all of my content in one go.

My main reasons for doing this are so that I can embed the blog directly into my home page – collating all of my latest updates into a single page, which will hopefully mean that my front page is updated often enough for it to be actually useful to some people – especially when I start to put some tutorials and reviews back onto my site once again.

I am still working on site updates at the moment – including integrating this blog correctly (by fixing up the theme that I’ve hashed together in a really ugly fashion) and completing the sections that are still marked as ‘coming soon’. Now that I have a working blog, I’ll also be working on putting blog posts onto the front page – should be fun.
