About Me
You’ve reached the personal blog of Dr John Wordsworth. I graduated in 2009 with a PhD in Applied Mathematics at the University of Exeter. My thesis was entitled “Winnerless Competition in Neural Dynamics; Cluster Synchronisation of Coupled Oscillators”. You can read more about my PhD here or you can download my thesis from ERIC.
I have always had an interest in programming and find games are not only fun to play but are challenging and exciting to develop. To this end, a friend and I setup a programming and development company based in Exeter, Devon in the United Kingdom. At Iron Star Media we lead a split life – developing software and web-applications at the same time as developing games for the Xbox and the iPhone markets. We’re new, and definitely still learning – but it’s a lot of fun.
In my spare time I’m lucky enough to be married to my lovely wife who puts up with me gaming on my Xbox 360 / PC, cycling and podcasting. I’m also partial to a bit of hardcore geekery, with an interest in writing, tabletop RPGs and comic books. You can listen to the podcast that I host and produce with 2 friends online; AtRandom Podcast Website.
